When you can score two runs with the batter motoring to third base after a dropped third strike pitch, you kind of figure it is or, is not, going to be your night, depending on your point of view. That was the scenario which played out in Wednesday’s American Legion first round Lower State playoff series opener as Kershaw County turned what should have been the second out of the bottom of the fifth inning into a three-run frame. That gave the hosts a 6-2 lead on which they would not look back on in doubling up Georgetown, 10-5, at American Legion Park.
