Will Dorton was hoping his Kershaw County American Legion team would build on the momentum from Wednesday’s 3-0 win over West Columbia and carry it over to Thursday’s fourth game of the best-of-five first round Lower State playoff series. The Post 17ers went out and did what their first year head coach had hoped they would do. Jumping on host Post 79 for four runs in the top of the first, KC scored 12 times in the third inning to cruise to a 16-0 lead which turned into a 23-1 rout in a game stopped after seven innings by the 10-run rule as KC took the series in four games.
