All systems go for CHS and L-E after HSL realignment

Even though the 2012 football season is some 56 weeks in the offing, Lugoff-Elgin High School head coach and athletic director Scott Jones already has one win under his team’s collective belt before the 2011 campaign has even kicked off. Across the river, Camden High head football coach and athletic director, Jimmy Neal, said next year will be nothing new for his school’s athletic program, despite its moving out of a Lower State circuit to one which will play in the Upper State come time for 2012 post-season, state playoff action. Two years ago, with the High School League (HSL) needing to balance out its Lower State football regions, the organization sent L-E --- a newcomer to class 4A and a Region 4 entry --- to Region 6-4A for football only.
