Kershaw County got the three things it needed most Friday night; a win, a little breathing room in second place and some rest, although not necessarily in that order. Post 17 used a four-run bottom of the first to take a 4-1 lead over visiting Manning-Santee and would never look back in a 6-4 League III win at American Legion Park. The victory came a night after the hosts suffered a 9-7 loss to previously winless Hartsville and two nights after outlasting Dalzell-Shaw, 30-24, in an 11-inning marathon Tuesday night.
