DogFest: A Celebration of Being a Camden Bulldog will be held on Saturday, April 14 at American Legion Park. This year’s event, sponsored by May Plant Credit Union, is planned to offer fun for all ages.
The day will feature baseball games between Camden and Lugoff-Elgin. The varsity baseball game will begin at noon. The junior varsity contest is set for 3 p.m.
In addition to the games, Ronnie’s Ribs and BBQ will have sandwiches and plates for sale. The Camden Bulldog mascot “Buster” will be in attendance and anyone can have their picture taken with “Buster.”
Another highlight of DogFest will be a “Diamond in the Rough” search between the varsity and junior varsity baseball games. The purchase of a Relay for Life paper cupcake for $1 buys admission onto the field to search for the “Diamond in the Rough.” The winner of this event receives a gift certificate from Todd and Moore Sports. A new feature this year will be “Diamond Bingo” with two winners receiving gift certificates from Todd and Moore Sports.
Other activities include two inflatable fun houses, face painting and games between innings. The Relay for Life team will sell cupcakes to promote “Cupcakes for A Cure” and bottles of “Life is Bubble-icious” as part of their Relay for Life fundraising campaign.
Admission to the games, as well as Saturday’s festivities, is $5.
