His shirt still wet after two of his players dumped a water cooler on him following Camden’s playoff-clinching 37-26 win over visiting Columbia last Friday, first-year Bulldog boss Brian Rimpf wanted to stay in the moment rather than talk about his team’s first round state tourney opponent. Shortly after the victory over the Capitals at Zemp Stadium, it was announced over the public address system that Palmetto outlasted Powdersville, 55-41, to lock down second place in Region 2-AAA. That victory assured Rimpf and company (3-7, 2-2 in Region 4-AAA) of a trip to Williamston on Friday to take on the 7-3 Mustangs. When told of the 95 combined points scored in the game in the Upstate, Rimpf said he would deal with Palmetto over the weekend while savoring his team’s second consecutive win which assured them of playing in November for the second straight season and third time in the past four years.
