Will Abbott and Josh Hough combined on a one-hitter as Camden shut out visiting Fairfield Central, 5-0, in a non-region baseball game played Wednesday at American Legion park.On a night in which CHS head coach Denny Beckley altered his lineup, the Bulldogs strung together seven hits with Hough and Austin Sheheen getting their first varsity hits, both of which drove in a run in the victory.“We wanted to get some of our guys some well-deserved playing time and they came through with very big games for us,” Beckley said following his team’s final non-region pairing of the season. “Josh and Austin both played big roles in our scoring. They both played well and were an important part of our victory.”On the mound, Abbott improved to 5-1 on the season as he worked the first five innings.
