Senior forward Breanna Barnes found the back of the nets on three occasions as the Camden High girls’ soccer team evened their record in Region 4-AAA play at 1-1 following Tuesday’s 6-0 shutout victory over Lower Richland in a match played in Columbia.

The Lady Bulldogs (2-3) under the direction of first-year head coach Aaron Mays put this one in the books early in jumping out to a 4-0 lead over the Diamond Hornets.

In addition to Barnes’ hat trick, Camden received goals from sophomores Brooke Galdeen, Shan Woody and senior Sarah Anne Semple. Riley Shelbourne was between the posts and registered the shutout.

Camden was scheduled to have played Heathwood Hall on Thursday before returning to Columbia to take on Dreher in a 7 p.m. Region 4-AAA match tonight.

The Lady Bulldogs were scheduled to play in a Saturday tournament at Lakewood which has not been cancelled.
