Having traded punches and gotten the better of things for the first three quarters of Friday’s AAA state playoff opener against visiting Berkeley, Camden looked like it was ready to deliver a crushing blow to the head. Only problem was, the Stags blocked it and then, capitalized on a red zone defensive stand by going on a 15-0 fourth quarter run to take a 36-28 victory over the Bulldogs inside a cold and smoky Zemp Stadium. The loss ended a 9-2 season for Jimmy Neal’s charges.
