The Camden High School Bulldog Club membership drive is in full swing for the 2019-2020 school year.

The organization, founded in 1952, provides financial assistance to all athletic programs at the school through the membership drive and various fundraising activities.

The Camden Bulldog Club Board is composed of parent representatives for each sport, school and community representatives, CHS Athletic Director Brian Rimpf and CHS Principal Dan Matthews. Billy Newman will serve as this year’s Bulldog Club President.

“Our athletic program is recognized in our community and throughout the state for tradition, commitment to excellence, and community support,” Newman said. “  Our student-athletes are aware that hard work pays off.  They, along with our coaches, represent our school and town with sportsmanship, honor and dignity.  We want them to compete under the best possible circumstances as they represent Camden High School.  We hope you will join us as a member of the Camden Bulldog Club in making this year as successful as in the past.”

Each year the Camden Bulldog Club is asked to fund equipment and improvement of facilities, pay tournament entry fees and provide meals for playoff teams. The club sponsors two “Meet the Bulldogs” programs to introduce players and coaches and encourages all Bulldog Club members to attend these programs.

To encourage attendance at games, the club provides fall, winter and spring sports posters. The club hosts the annual Bulldog Athletic Banquet to recognize the hard work and accomplishments of our student-athletes and coaches.  More than 60 individual awards are given as well as the presentation of senior plaques, first-year block “C” letters and two $500 college scholarships. Fundraisers, in addition to the membership drive, include the Miss Gold and Black pageant, the Bulldog Spirit Shoppe and program sales at the Carolina Cup steeplechase race.

Information brochures have been mailed to last year’s Bulldog Club members.  Persons wishing to become a member of the organization should call Camden High at 425-8937 to have a brochure mailed to them or to receive more information.

All membership levels include receiving the following: a Camden “C” decal, a “Proud Support of the Camden Bulldogs” yard sign, a subscription to The Tradition newsletter, name or business included in the Camden Bulldog Club Membership List which appears in all published home football game programs and in the athletic banquet program and honored at the athletic banquet as special guests --- served first at the catered meal..
