After opening the Region 4-AAA season with four straight wins, the Camden High softball team was upended by defending conference champion Chapin, 10-0, last Friday night.
The Lady Bulldogs (7-3) were held to one hit in the road loss. The Lady Eagles scored all their runs after the third inning.
Kennedi Stokes suffered the loss as she gave up five earned runs with four strikeouts. Camden’s lone hit came one Alisha Robinson’s fifth inning single.
Last Wednesday, CHS fell to McBee, 9-3, in a non-league road contest in which the Lady Bulldogs collected seven hits but hurt themselves with five errors.
Kristen Carter was on the mound, going all six innings while giving up three earned runs.
CHS jumped to a 1-0 lead in the first inning as Whitley Kahler smacked a leadoff single, stole second and scored on Bri Dow’s single.
McBee scored four unearned runs in the fourth to hike its lead to 8-1. Camden added two more runs with Dow driving in both for a three RBI night in which she had two hits. Kahler went 3-for-4 at the plate with two stolen bases.
