Camden High School is adding girls’ golf to its roster of athletic programs beginning this fall.
The sport will be held each fall and the Lady Bulldogs will be coached by Matt McCarley, golf professional at the Camden Country Club and head coach of the CHS boys teams in the spring. McCarley was a former captain of the golf teams at Camden High Schhol as well as at the University of South Carolina.
McCarley will conduct an organizational meeting on Tuesday, July 30 at 10 a.m. on the practice putting green at the Camden Country Club on Knights Hill Rd.
Prospective team members are asked to attend the brief informational meeting and do not need to bring their golf clubs with them.
All girls entering the seventh through 12th grades at Camden Middle School and/or Camden High School are invited to try out for the squad.
For more information about the team and/or next week’s meeting, please call Matt McCarley at 432-3322.
