CHS athletic banquet tickets now on sale

The Camden High School Athletic Banquet will be held on Tuesday, May 22 in the school gymnasium.

The banquet, sponsored each year by the Camden Bulldog Club, recognizes the dedication of Camden High’s student athletes and coaches.  Awards are presented to teams and individual student-athletes who have achieved athletic and academic excellence and displayed good sportsmanship.

The featured speaker for this year’s banquet will be former Clemson football standout Eric Mac Lain.

A catered meal will be served beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the program beginning at 7 p.m.  Tickets to the banquet, priced at $10 each, will only be sold in advance and are on sale now. Sales will end at the conclusion of the school day on Friday, May 18. Tickets will not be sold at the door the night of the banquet.

Eric MacLain graduated from Clemson in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and then again in 2017 with a Master’s in Athletic Leadership and Administration. McLain is employed by JMI Sports and continues to represent Clemson but now, in the multimedia space, where JMIS creates corporate sponsorships for Clemson University.

Prior to this position, Mac Lain was a member of the Clemson football team, winning ACC titles in 2011, and 2015,while never losing a bowl game and beating LSU, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

In 2015, Mac Lain was elected team captain, led his team to a National Championship appearance and was named first team All-ACC, Academic All-ACC, All-Bowl team by ESPN, CBS and FOX Sports and Strength and All-American by the National Strength Coaches Association. During his time as a student-athlete, Mac Lain was also leading off of the field and serving his community every way he could, earning the ACC honor: The ACC’s Top 6 Community Service Award.

Because of his leadership, ability and poise, Mac Lain was also selected to introduce the Vice President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, before his “It’s on Us” campaign speech at Clemson.
