Even though his team did not lose a set in its 7-0 win over host Manning on Tuesday, Camden High tennis coach Roger Smoak could see that the Bulldogs were still rusty from last week’s spring break.While improving their season record to 8-2 with the non-conference win, Smoak said his team could have played better.“This was a typical match from coming back from the holiday break,” Smoak said. “Some of our guys got in some practice over the break, but we did not look too sharp.”Smoak said neither he nor his team could use the long trip to Manning or, this being their first match in 12 days, as an excuse for their play. The problem, he said, was with his team’s erratic performance.“We were way too inconsistent.
