Staying in their locker room for all but a few seconds before the start of the second half, the Camden girls returned to the Michael G. Culp Court playing surface without time to warm-up for the second 16 minutes of Wednesday’s season opener with visiting Lakewood. With her team looking up at a 26-13 halftime deficit, CHS head coach Natalie Jeffcoat used up nearly every second she could in helping her girls right the ship. Whatever the former CHS and University of South Carolina standout said to her young team worked as the Lady Bulldogs opened the third quarter on a 14-0 run and held a 35-34 advantage with a little more than seven minutes left in the game.
