Both the Camden tennis and boys’ soccer teams were in the shutout business this week.

On the tennis court, the Bulldogs improved to 4-0 on the season by knocking off Region 4-AAA foe Indian Land, 6-0.

On the soccer pitch, Jerry Jones’ Dogs blanked Chester, 4-0, in a Region 4-AAA match.

The Camden netters lost just five games in a dozen sets to the Warriors.

Wilson Pope won his first singles pairing, 6-0, 6-0, while his younger brother David did likewise at second singles. Ben Battiata took third singles, 6-3, 6-2, before Mac Long and Wilson Nash won by similar 6-0, 6-0 scores at fourth and fifth singles, respectively.

The zeros continued in second doubles with Camden’s Brett Elliott and Josh Bowers pitching a pair of 6-0 shutouts.

CHS soccer improves to 2-0: After having gotten past non-conference foe Lewisville, 3-2, in their first match last week, the Bulldog boys’ soccer team kept Chester from finding the back of the nets in a 4-0 road victory on Tuesday.

Finding their way into the scoring column with goals for Camden were Neal Blank, Gil Conder, Alessandro Mangana and J.D. Myers.
