For whatever reason, Camden has had more than its share of pitchers having to deal with first inning issues along with spells in which the defense has been the team’s Achilles’ heel. Thursday night, in a game in which they could least afford either one to happen, those two elements combined for an imperfect storm as the Bulldogs saw their chance for a Region 6-AAA title go up in smoke in a 6-4 loss to visiting Marlboro County.Camden finished conference play with a 7-3 record while MC improved to 8-2. The Dogs will open AAA tourney action on Thursday as the third seed from 6-AAA, meaning Denny Beckley and company will head to meet Region 5 runner-up Chapin in their post-season opener. For the guests, their road to victory on a chilly night at American Legion Park, started by scoring four times on one hit in the top of the first.
