Dogs squeeze way into district final

Heart, meet throat, then, meet stomach. That must have been how Camden head coach Denny Beckley’s insides felt as he saw John Bailey’s bases loaded, suicide squeeze bunt with one gone in the bottom of the seventh grab some air. In the end, Beckley’s heart was back in place, if not ticking a tad faster, when Lancaster’s Cooper Ledbetter was unable to come up with the fly ball as William Cobb sprinted home from third base with the winning run in the Bulldogs’ 6-5 win over the Bruins on Wednesday at American Legion Park.
