Dogs stomp Redhawks: Facing a first-year Westwood tennis program which has been struggling in its first matches, Camden High head coach Roger Smoak saw Thursday’s home match as the perfect opportunity to give some of his regulars a rest, shake up the rotation and get several of his reserves valuable court time.The new-look Bulldog lineup produced a 6-0 victory over the Redhawks as Camden won for the first time in four Region 4-AAA matches. The victory came on the heels of a 6-0 non-conference win over 4A entry Blythewood a day earlier.Thomas Marshall made a smooth transition from fourth to first singles and breezed past Oliver Ellis, 6-1, 6-0. Wilson Pope, a seventh-grader who usually played fifth singles blanked Morgan Casarez, 6-0, 6-0, in second singles while the regular second doubles tandem of Robert Lackey and K.P. Cassidy moved to fourth and fifth singles and each posted 6-0, 6-0 victories over Bryan Ferguson and Allen Burke, respectively.Seeing their first action of the season, Mac Lindsay and Will Conder who pitched a 6-0, 6-0 shutout over Jorrin Sims and Sebastian Young-Cruz in second doubles.The Dogs kick off a three-match week today at Hartsville before heading to Sumter opn Tuesday.
