Dogs storm back to upend scrappy Lakewood, 10-2
CAMDENS ALEX YOUNG and Lakewood first baseman Rian Haselden focus their attention on LHS pitcher David Heyden. One pitch later, Young would steal second base.
By all accounts, a young Lakewood squad is not expected to be much of a factor in the Region 6-AAA baseball race. You could not have gotten Camden to believe that after the visiting Gators used a two-run top of the fourth inning to pull within 3-2 Thursday night at chilly American Legion Park in Camden. Suddenly, being in a close game proved to be the wake-up call the Bulldog offense needed as the hosts scored the game’s final seven runs in a 10-2 victory in the conference opener for both teams.
