Flick catches on with Erskines Flying Fleet
CHS SENIOR CHRISTIAN FLICK signed his National Letter of Intent with Erskine College while joined by his mother, Angie Brennen. Joining the Bulldog catcher are, from left, CHS principal Dan Matthews, CHS assistant baseball coach Brian Kersey, CHS athletics director Jimmy Neal, CHS head baseball coach Denny Beckley, CHS assistant baseball coach Casey Faulkenberry, CHS assistant baseball coach Jay Gates and CHS assistant baseball coach Joe Bowers.
By former standards, Christian Flick would not have been your obvious candidate to be a catcher. At 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds, he bears little resemblance to the catchers of yesteryear who tended to be on the pudgy, slow and non-athletic side. Now, however, the Camden High School senior is what many schools are looking for in a catcher who must be rangy, quick afoot and athletic.
