Flora rallies to upend Dogs, 6-4

Flora, Camden saw its lead evaporate with one swing of the bat from Donald Gillepsie.The Flora junior drove a hanging breaking ball off the scoreboard in left field to clear the bases. A few minutes and two runs later, the Falcons had themselves a 6-4 win in a game played in Forest Acres Tuesday night.Sitting in the fifth spot in the most recent Collegiate Baseball National High School Baseball Poll, A.C. Flora came into the regular season and Region 4-AAA opener after having won last week’s International Paper Classic in Georgetown. On this night, however, the visiting Bulldogs gave the hosts all they could handle … and, then some.“We knew going in that it was going to be a battle,” said Camden head coach Denny Beckley.
