Sumter scored three goals in the first 10 minutes of play and then, went on to a 4-1 win over Camden in a non-region boys’ soccer match played last Thursday. The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 3-5 overall heading into this week’s spring break. It was a CHS mistake on the defensive end on Sumter’s initial attack which led to the first Gamecock goal. A Bulldog defender was called for a foul, giving SHS a free kick from the right corner, just outside the box. The guests turned the opportunity into a goal as a header found its way into the right corner just 30 seconds into the contest.Another defensive lapse, as Camden failed to clear the ball out of its zone, led to Sumter picking off the pass and scoring from point-blank range for a 2-0 lead in the fourth minutes.
