A short night, a short morning at school and a trip to Greenville for AAA District 3 elimination game made up a whirlwind Wednesday for the Camden High baseball team.Having arrived home close to 1 a.m. Wednesday following a 3-2 nine inning win in Chester on Tuesday night, the Bulldogs had little down time before traveling back to Greenville for that night’s 6 p.m. contest with Greenville High, which topped CHS, 7-6, in last Friday’s tourney opener. The second time around, the results were the same, albeit by a different count as the Red Raiders closed out Camden’s season with an 8-4 win.Camden head coach Denny Beckley refused to use the short time between games an excuse for his team’s play.“It was a difficult situation for our guys,” he said of the quick turnaround between games. “I don’t think that played a major part in it, but our guys were all pretty exhausted. We were very tired, but we were prepared for this game.”The Dogs came out with a two-run top of the first which began with Corey Brazell reaching on an error and stealing second one pitch later.
