Greenville knocks Dogs from tourney

Greenville outscored visiting Camden, 27-8, over the final 11 minutes of play to advance to the third round of the AAA state basketball playoffs with a 41-34 win over the Bulldogs on Saturday.The setback capped an 11-7 season for the fourth place finishers from Region 4. The Red Raiders, which were third in Region 3, will travel to meet Region 4 champion Dreher in Wednesday’s third round.Camden led from the first basket of the game until the Red Raiders’ Robert Flynn broke a 30-30 tie with a back door layin with less than three minutes to play to give the hosts a 32-30 advantage. Seconds earlier, Flynn evened things at 30-30 with a 3-point jumper.The Bulldogs made just three baskets from the field in the fourth quarter, the second coming on a Tony Doby after a drought of nearly five minutes with a Tony Doby layup which drew the guests to within 37-32 in the final minute of play.
