On a night in which he pitched what his head coach, Denny Beckley, said was the best game of his four-year Camden High career and then some, Will Abbott had the worst luck which a pitcher could experience. Still working on a no-hitter with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning of Friday’s AAA District 1 championship round game at Belton-Honea Path, Abbott lost his no-hit bid and the visiting Bulldogs the ballgame as Blake Holliday won the contest for himself with a walk-off solo home run to left field. The two-out blast marked the third time in Camden’s last four state playoff appearances in which their season ended with an opponent hitting a walk-off home run.
