After a wet and relatively cool summer, Mother Nature brought the heat just in time for the cross country season. The Camden High girls’ squad opened the year placing 12th out of 20 teams at the Hammond Skyhawk Invitational on Aug. 28. Lady Bulldog head coach Pam Chickering was pleased with the performance, in a race run in tough conditions.“It was very hot day to run,” she said, “but the girls held their own and did well for their first meet of the season against strong competition. “We have a young team again this year, having no seniors and one 11th grader.
