Lady Bulldogs pound Westwood, 15-5

After having to score seven times in the seventh inning to come away with a win over eighth-ranked Dreher last Friday, the Camden softball team made things a lot easier on themselves and head coach Lynn Looney on Tuesday.The Lady Bulldogs needed just five innings to dispose of Westwood in a 15-5 victory which gave CHS a 4-0 mark in Region 4-AAA and 4-2 overall.Victoria Reyes went the distance on the mound for the hostesses, giving up just three hits. Camden used a six-run second inning to open up a 7-0 lead on the visiting Red Hawks, but errors in the fourth allowed WWS to close to close the gap to 7-3. Westwood added a run in the top of the fifth after Camden had scored in the bottom of the fourth to make it a 9-5 CHS lead.The Lady Dogs would send nine batters to the plate in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs with two outs in the inning to end the game.
