Waiting more than two hours due to a scheduling snafu and then, having to deal with a rowdy River Bluff student section which lined the court, Camden overcame that set of circumstances to leave Lexington County with a 3-2 win last Tuesday in a Region 4-AAA volleyball match.The visiting Lady Bulldogs arrived for a 5:30 p.m. start, only to find an empty gym and be told the match would not start until 7 p.m.Add with the River Bluff student section being steps away from being on the playing surface and calling out the names of the Lady Bulldogs, and Camden’s 25-19, 11-25, 17-25, 26-24 and 15-10 victory was as sweet as head coach Paige Wilson could remember, given the hostile setting. “This was one of our toughest matches of the season and we pulled it out,” Wilson said of her seventh-ranked class AAA squad. “Both River Bluff matches this season went to the fifth game and both times we showed our fight and determination to win.
