A change in venue failed to slow down Camden’s Garrett Lawson as he led the Camden High boys’ cross country team to a third place finish in Wednesday’s Region 4-AAA championships held at Clemson’s Research Park course in Columbia. The event was scheduled to have been contest over the Historic Camden Revolutionary War Park course but was moved to Columbia due to damage to the course as the result of the recent flooding in the area. Lawson, a sophomore, earned All-Region 4-AAA honors with a fifth place finish as he traveled the 3.1-mile course in a time of 18.25.
