There is digging yourself an early hole and then there is the plight which the Camden girls found themselves in on Monday.With their playoff hopes having vanished nearly two weeks earlier, the Lady Bulldogs saw their season come to an end in a 63-16 loss to visiting and second-ranked Lower Richland in Monday’s Senior Night contest played on the Mike Culp Court.In finishing their season with a 9-12 record and a 4-8 Region 4-AAA mark, the Lady Bulldogs trailed 15-0 before Ariyan Massey’s free throw at the 7:02 mark of the second quarter put the hostesses on the scoreboard for the first time.Camden managed just five first half points against the more talented and deeper Diamond Hornets, who completed a perfect 4-AAA campaign and will now embark on defending their AAA state crown.LR made it look easy, scoring 24 of its 30 baskets on layins or, point-blank buckets as the guests went inside early and often with 5-foot-10 inch senior center Breshay Johnson leading all scorers with 15 points.CHS head coach Natalie Jeffcoat said LR imposed its will on her team. “Definitely,” she said when asked if that was the case. “Breshay Johnson is a three-time All-State player.
