For better or for worse, the Camden boys’ basketball team will not play in a post-Christmas tournament.Given that fact, the 17 days off between Friday’s 56-45 win over River Bluff and the 2014 year opener at Dreher will give the Bulldogs plenty of time to go over what has been ailing them after the first six games of this season. If Friday’s night’s game on the Michael G. Culp Court was any indication, expect plenty of practice time to be devoted to protecting the basketball and making good decisions. Thanks to Josh Sumpter’s exploding for 20 of his game-high 22 points after intermission, the Dogs (4-2) were able to pull away from the Gators to even their Region 4-AAA mark at 1-1.
