Switching to center proves to be a snap for Robinson
Former Bulldog defensive tackle named outstanding offensive lineman in bowl game
FORMER CHS NOSE GUARD Jerel Robinson (73) went from chasing quarterbacks to protecting them when he played center in the All-American Bowl in North Carolina earlier this summer.
As he gathered his team around him to begin preparations for the 2011 All-American Bowl in Kings Mountain, N.C., Stars head coach Donnie Kiefer had about everything he needed in an all-star football team. He had quarterbacks who could throw the ball, running backs who could tote it and receivers who could catch it. What the Tuscola (N.C.) High School head coach did not have was someone to snap the ball.
