Q Foundation gets past Camden Military, 24-7

C-I (Camden, S.C.) sports editorSo often this fall, Camden Military Academy was forced to play catch-up football against an opponent.In Saturday’s season finale, the Spartans struck first only to see visiting Q Foundation answer by scoring the final 24 points of the game to take a 24-7 victory at Spartan Field.The loss capped an 0-8 season for Will Rice’s charges which jumped to a 7-0 first quarter lead when tailback Ange Gadji scored on a seven-yard run in the first quarter.That lead held up until the Fighting Falcons scored on a five-yard run in the second quarter to take an 8-7 lead into the half. The guests scored on a 10-yard third quarter run to make it a 16-7 lead before using an interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal things as CMA went to the air to try and get back into the contest.Rice said his team squandered potential scoring opportunities which could have changed the complexion of the game.“We shot ourself in the foot several times,” he said. “We had chances to score, not necessarily from inside the red zone, but close enough.
