When you have a football team which has only been in pads for some 10 days playing an opponent with two full games under its belt, the last thing you want is to get off to a slow start. Things could not have opened any worse for Camden Military Academy, which gave up a 76-yard scoring pass on the first play of Friday’s 40-7 loss to Davidson Day School, which improved to 3-0 on the season. Playing its season opener in the Friday afternoon heat, the Spartans trailed, 21-0, after the first 13 minutes of play against a Patriot offense which came into the contest averaging 61.5 points per game in its first two victories.
