For a team still searching for that first win, a week off can be a good thing or, a bad one.Having opened the season with five consecutive losses, Camden Military Academy had a bye last weekend due to the school’s annual fall break. Spartans’ head coach Will Rice hopes that time away from the field would bring his players back to campus refreshed as they prepared for their final three games of the season. That stretch begins Saturday when the Raleigh Titans come to Spartan Field for a 2:30 p.m. homecoming contest. The visitors from the North Carolina capital city will bring a 2-4 record into Saturday’s contest and are coming off a 28-6 loss at the hands of Airborne for Christ last week.As for the Spartans, Rice said he was encouraged in seeing how his team came back from the mid-season layoff.“We’re focusing back on the fundamentals and getting back to the basics after having a week without practicing,” he said.
