Playing without point guard and leading scorer Tiyana Peterson for the final 12 minutes of the first half of Friday’s game at Lugoff-Elgin due to foul trouble, Camden head coach Natalie Jeffcoat was looking to just tread water in the first of three meetings between the two rivals. When forward Joyce Edwards was tagged with her third personal foul midway in the second quarter, the Lady Bulldog boss was counting down the minutes and seconds and almost urging the clock to stay running. Jeffcoat’s fears went unfounded as her team improved to 5-1 on the season with a 62-32 win over the Lady Demons, who fell to 1-3.
