CHS alumni baseball game kicks off Saturday's Dogfest

DogFest, a celebration of being a Camden Bulldog, will be held on Saturday, March 24 at the Camden High School baseball/softball complex. Dogfest activities will get off to an early start with the playing of the annual Camden High School Alumni Baseball Game.Any and all former Bulldog baseball players are invited to come out to American Legion Park to play in the game which will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 11 a.m. Players wishing to participate in the alumni contest need only to be dressed to play and bring their glove with them.This year’s event, sponsored by the May Plant Credit Union, is planned to offer fun for children and adults of all ages. The day will feature baseball and softball games between Camden and rival Lugoff-Elgin.The varsity softball game will begin at 11 a.m. with the junior varsity softball scheduled for 1 p.m. The varsity baseball game will begin at noon, followed by the junior varsity contest at 3 p.m.In addition to the games, Ronnie’s Ribs and BBQ of Elgin will have sandwiches and barbecue plates for sale throughout the day.
