The Camden High School baseball coaching staff will host its annual Father-Son Baseball Camp on Saturday, March 12 at American Legion Park in Camden.
The event is being sponsored by the Kershaw County Parks and Recreation Department.
The camp, which focuses on the fundamentals of the game will be held from 9 a.m. until noon. Youngsters ages five and older and their parent/guardian are invited to attend the session.
The cost is $30 per father/son pair with an additional $10 charge for more than one youngster from the same family.
The cost includes tickets for that afternoon’s 4 p.m. baseball game between the University of South Carolina and Charleston Southern University to be played at Founders Park in Columbia. Those attending the father/son camp may travel to the stadium via car pool leaving from American Legion Park at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The camp itself will focus on the fundamentals of pitching, catching and hitting with the parent and sibling(s) participating in the drills together in the hopes that the father will reinforce the fundamentals to their son(s) in the future.
All registration will be done through the Kershaw County Parks and Recreation Department in advance of the camp.
