CHS grad Robinson leads D-I women in soccer assists

Camden’s India Robinson leads all NCAA Division I women’s soccer players with 12 assists through matches of Sept. 30.Robinson, a former Camden High All-State player, is a junior midfielder at Furman University.The Paladins improved to 7-2-1 on the season with a 3-1 non-conference victory over Francis Marion University on Sunday afternoon in Greenville. The victory was the fourth straight for the host team. In that match, Robinson notched her 12th assist of the season --- and 11th in six matches --- which is two more than Frances Silva of West Virginia University.On Sept. 24, Robinson was named to Top Drawer Soccer’s Team-of-the-Week after recording three assists that weekend to guide the Paladins to road victories at North Florida and Jacksonville.Robinson assisted on both Paladin goals in Friday (Sept. 20) 2-0 triumph versus the Ospreys before setting up Stephanie DeVita's match-tying tally in the 79th minute of Sunday’s (Sept. 22) 2-1 overtime win at Jacksonville.
