Clinic Classic hits the streets on April 26

The seventh annual Clinic Classic 10K run and 5K walk/run, presented by McDonald’s of Camden, will take to the streets of Camden on Saturday, April 26.The races will start at 8:30 a.m. and will begin and end at the Community Medical Clinic located on 110-C East DeKalb Street in Camden, behind the United Way building.The events will include the KershawHealth 10K Run, the McDonalds 5K Walk/Run and the Camden Family Care 1 mile Walk/Run.The entry fee is $35 for the 10K run, with a timing chip; $30 for the 5K walk/run with a timing chip, $20 for the 5K run/walk without a timing chip and $20 for the 1 mile run/walk which includes an event T-shirt and a goody bag. Race packets may be picked up and race day registration will be conducted at the Community Medical Clinic beginning at 7 a.m. the day of the race. No refunds will be issued and the race will be held rain or shine.To register online, go to and click on the Clinic Classic icon.Awards will be presented to the top male and female runner and age groups while refreshments will be available for all participants following the race which is run over a USATF certified course.In addition, there will be an elementary school competition in which runners and walkers can earn $750 for their school to be donated by McDonald’s of Camden and to be used at the discretion of the school's principal.All elementary school students along with their parents, guardians, grandparents, siblings, teachers, administrators and all support staff are invited to join in the 5K (3.1 miles) portion of the Clinic Classic Road Race.Proceeds from the Clinic Classic benefit the Community Medical Clinic of Kershaw County which provides medical care to those without health insurance in Kershaw County.For more information about the event or the clinic, please call the Community Medical Clinic of Kershaw County at (803) 713-0806 or, visit
