Camden flashed parts of its past and future in Monday’s AAA District 4 championship in Powdersville. In the Lowcountry, meanwhile, Lugoff-Elgin’s hopes of staging a doubleheader sweep went down in a combination of runs, wind, rain and lightning in the 4A District 8 final round in Walterboro. Both Kershaw County entries were faced with the unenviable task of going on the road and having to sweep the hosts in order to have advanced into their respective elite eights.
