Having seen Crestwood get a bit too comfortable playing with the lead and trying to slow the pace of play down in the second half, Lugoff-Elgin head coach Garrett Knight decided to turn up the heat on the visitors from Sumter County. After a 3-point shot from L-E’s Bradwin Salmond knotted things at 36 with 3:39 left in the third quarter of Tuesday’s Region 6-4A contest, Knight quickly called for and received a time out in order to change the tempo. The host Demons came out of the break by employing a full-court trapping defense which led to a 25-4 run and, ultimately, a 63-48 victory inside the Demons Den.
