Led by title-winning performances from Jacob Paulson at 120 pounds and Eli McGee at 152, Lugoff-Elgin successfully defended its championship by winning the 27th annual Demon Holiday Classic wrestling tournament held Friday and Saturday at Lugoff-Elgin High School. Ted Monroe’s hosts had 12 wrestlers finding their way to top six finishes in the 14 weight divisions to score a two-day 269 total. Fellow class 5A foe Chapin was next with 221 points while Cane Bay, last year’s runner-up and coached by former L-E boss Tim Wash, came in third with 214 points.
