Dogs, Demons and Knights stay home for tournament

After three years of heading to sites in and around Columbia to play in spring break tournaments, all three Kershaw County high school teams will stay at home this week for the Telasco Alarm Service Spring Break Baseball Tournament.
The three-day event will be played at American Legion Park in Camden and will include Ridge View High school. In addition, the Camden and Lugoff-Elgin junior varsity teams, along with Ridge View and Fairfield Central, will also get into the act in a trio of quadrupleheaders which open this afternoon.
All three county teams are in the middle of state tournament runs in their respective regions. Conference play will resume next week for all four tourney entries.
Here is the schedule of games for the tournament:

Monday
Noon: Ridge View vs. Lugoff-Elgin (Junior Varsity)
2:30 p.m.: Fairfield Central vs. Camden (Junior Varsity)
 5p.m.: Ridge View vs. Lugoff-Elgin (Varsity)
7:30 p.m.: North Central vs. Camden (Varsity

Tuesday
Noon: Fairfield Central vs. Lugoff-Elgin (Junior Varsity)
2:20 p.m.: Ridge View vs. Camden (Junior Varsity)
5 p.m.: North Central vs. Lugoff-Elgin (Varsity)
7:30 p.m.: Ridge View vs. Camden (Varsity)

Wednesday
Noon: Fairfield Central vs. Ridge View (Junior Varsity)
2:30 p.m.: Ridge View vs. North Central (Varsity)
5 p.m.: Lugoff-Elgin vs. Camden (Junior Varsity)
7:30 p.m.: Lugoff-Elgin vs. Camden (Varsity)
