Dogs, Demons square off Wednesday

Tournament officials were hoping that Tuesday’s weather would not throw a crimp into the Kershaw-Richland Wooden Bat Classic at American Legion Park in Camden.Camden High head coach Denny Beckley was hopeful that Tuesday’s slate of games would be played and as of press time on Tuesday, no alternate plans had been made.As for today’s third round of the Camden portion of the event, the South Florence and Westwood junior varsity teams will play at noon with the Lower Richland versus South Florence varsity contest set for a 2:30 p.m. start.At 5 p.m., the Camden and Lugoff-Elgin junior varsity teams will close out their seasons when the two sides meet. The 7:30 p.m. contest will have the varsity teams from the two rival schools meeting for the third time this season. For the first time this season, both the Bulldogs and Demons will have their aces toeing the rubber with Camden sending out senior lefty Grey Hoke and L-E expected to hand the ball to its senior right-hander, Zac Bowers.
