It was as close to a perfect ending as you could ask for, unless you won a state championship. The Camden High boys’ cross country team wrapped up the most successful season in the history of the sport at the school by finishing fourth in last Saturday’s South Carolina High School League’s AAA State Championship meet held at Clemson’s Sandhills Research Center Park in Columbia. Head coach Jerry Stokes’ Bulldogs completed the meet averaging 18:08, with Sam Messinides leading the way with another personal-best time of 17:31.
