Dyer delivers as 17ers win opener in 12, 6-5

Wynston Dyer's one-out, walk-off pinch-hit single in the bottom of the 12th inning drove home Bradwin Salmond with the winning run as Kershaw County Post 17 scored twice in the 12th to defeat visiting Lexington in the first round of the Midland Region State American Legion Baseball playoffs. Game two of the best-of-five series is set for Tuesday at the Lexington Sports Complex with game three returning to American Legion Park in Camden on Wednesday. Should a fourth and/or a fifth game be necessary, they would be played in Lexington and Camden, respectively.
