High Hopes Stables’ Baltic Shore broke his maiden over fences with a 13-length romp in a $15,000 maiden steeplechase at Saturday’s Strawberry Hill Races contested at Colonial Downs in New Kent, Va. The 5-year-old gelding is trained in Camden by Arch Kingsley, who earlier this spring saddled Sunshine Numbers for his 27 ¼-length victory in the $50,000 Carolina First Carolina Cup in Camden. Willie McCarthy was in the irons for the winning ride which was timed at 4:14 for the 2 ¼-mile trek over National fences.
