Colonial Cup card grows to seven races, sets earlier start time

Tickets and parking spaces of all varieties are still on sale for the 44th Marion duPont Scott Colonial Cup Steeplechase Races on Saturday, Nov. 23.With the addition of a seventh race to the card, the first races will begin at 12:15 p.m., moved up 15 minutes from the original start time. Races will be run in 35-minute intervals.The gates to the Springdale Race Course will swing open to the general public at 9 a.m. The Jack Russell Terrier trials will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the infield with the Salute to the Military kicking off at 11 a.m. The afternoon of racing features the $100,000 Colonial Cup (Gr. I), which will be the fourth race of the day, and brings the curtain down on the 2013 National Steeplechase Association season and will likely be the deciding race in the chase for American steeplechasing’s Eclipse Award.
